| Remember how I worked until 5 am the other morning (well, if you don't move your eyes a few inches navelward... there you go). Well, it seriously messed up my sleep schedule -- I can't sleep at night anymore. I was doing so well there. Gutting for all of you, I mean both of you, to hear -- I'm sure. Soo bored. | | |
| Do you know what time it is? It's 3:24 am. Guess where I am. That's right - at work. At least there's nothing to do. I mean, if I'm going to be somewhere doing nothing until all hours of the morning -- it may as well be here getting real paid.
Yesterday morning Mike and I went to the audiologist to get custom ear-plugs made. The audiologist is a family freind of Mike's so we're getting them wholesale (only $100 as opposed to $300) -- we just had to drive about an hour and a half to get there. Oh, wait, I mean I had to drive.
See how I just HTMLed. That's right - I'm starting to learn some of that. I just finally leaned how to update our webpage all by myself - which is cool. I still have a ton to learn, but one has to start somewhere.
We rehearsed yesterday - worked on one new song. Rehearsing again later today - after my nap. If you haven't checked the band site in say - the past two hours - you won't know that we've booked our first show. June 19th - mark your calendars. | | |
| I am at work. For the sixth day this week. It's okay though - I need the cash. I just had some work done on my car, and I've got to renew my insurance soon. So I'm pretter broke-ish till next Thursday at midnight (when I get paid).
Band stuff is moving along. We're nearly done with six demos with a few more to get started on when we can. We heard through the grapevine that the rich guys really like us and are planning to "work with us" which we translate as "give us money". I'm finally back in contact with Xtie - so hopefully we'll be able to get some more stuff on the site soon. Also, Mike met this woman through his work who will help us get together an EPK (electronic press kit) - she takes photos and her husband makes the CD-ROMs apparently. So that could be really good. Other than that, we're starting to talk to some folks about playing shows with them. So that will probably happen within the next month or two. I have got to get a mailing list of some kind together so I can make people come see us.
Going to see Beck in Boca tomorrow. Then on Monday I finally get to sleep. I hope. | | |
| Today's the first day in a good while I was able to sleep in and then do pretty much whatever. So of course I've done nothing at all. My cousin Paul is staying in Tampa for a few months and he's coming to Orlando today - really any time now. I believe I'll be going to a show of some kind with him later this evening, At five o'clock - when Mike gets off work - the band is rehearsing.
What else is new - I put in a ceiling fan last night. I got the Brighthouse networks equivalent of Tivo. Mike and I met with some rich dude who might want to invest in the band. We're working on 2 brand new songs - having finished the first four and nearly finished the fifth (we're waiting to do vocals coz I'm sick). So we nearly have a whole set of original material - a short one anyway. We desperately need to get a press kit together - I've been to busy to really get that organized - but it's rapidly becoming important.
I'd best find some food before practice. | | |
